BASICALLY I found some notes in Gens 2 on a random map about what I should do for the Margan's League and yeah. I wrote them a week ago and only remembered them now! So the quest to come up with a new Margan's League is over.

What? An update?

So the GW topic has been updated if you want to take a look. I wouldn't recommend posting 'cause it'll just be me coming in and saying YEAH DEMO SOON, NO DATE THOUGH GUYS. URL, though: http://www.gamingw.net/forums/index.php?topic=58329.0

So what's the status, you ask? Uh, that is a good question. I have been alpha testing lately to get a new demo out, but gotten up to Fantastique Home before realising I need to do some more work. I've worked on mapping out a full ship, and there's some events that go on there and they're more believable and shit.

Now I need some ideas, though. I need to reimagine the Margan's League, because a SECRET FIGHTING SOCIETY is stupid and ridiculous. I hate that section too, it's sloppy and... urgh.

I AM TAKING IDEAS.

If you guys can come up with a good idea for what I should turn The Margan's League into (and absolutely anything applies) and I like it, then I'll put it in the game and credit you heavily.

Back to work, ho-hum

Hidey-hody-heedy...hum?

Work's resumed on Gens 2 after a looooooooong break and I'm feeling terribly motivated to finish this fucker, so I'm trying to use this while it lasts.

BASICALLY over the last few days, I've been going over and redoing stuff that sucked. I completely remapped Tsubaki Village on Paraman (interiors AND the exterior; the mountain path to Elder Kiryai's... crib is still the same though, 'cause it's fine) and gave it some background instead of it being a shitty HEY HAVE A RANDOM SAMURAI VILLAGE, 'CAUSE SAMURAIS ARE COOL... which was pretty much my original line of thinking when making the damn place. Now it has a lot more background to it, Zandar's cooler, and holy fuck it looks a lot nicer. That's the main revision.

I also started planning how each character gets their Rahfest, which is cool, and K0LE gave me the thumbs-up, so even better.

REMAPPED AREAS INCLUDE:
-Tsubaki Village
-Hoddal Range (not in the last demo)

NEW AREAS INCLUDE:
-Magical Garden
-Sky Palace

Both these places are on Paraman and are optional dungeons. I intend on adding optional dungeons to the other planets when I get around to finishing the storyline for them (well, Ragdum's done, so I've only got Jarun, Narryl and Rendar to go (Kzar doesn't count)).

Also I've finally settled on an intro. Hurrah!

Onward to work on it again!

Gens 2 = cancelled

OK so I really didn't think it would get to this, but yeah. Consider Gens 2 temporarily postponed.

WHAT A DICK, you are shouting, and hell, I fully agree. I honestly thought I'd be able to stick this one through to the end.

The basic story is that I'm dropping all my creative pursuits at the moment; Gens 2, Twilight Dawn (next game) and The Ruby's Eye (novel). It's a bitch to drop them all, but at the moment, my life is just far too fuckin' busy to finish even one of them, let alone all. I WANT to finish this, believe me, but uni + general life is just too busy.

So, I'm delaying working on Gens 2 for at least three months. If you want, I'll give you what I've done of Gens 2 so far; I can't guarantee it'll be 100% bug-free, but it at least shows I'm not gonna up and disappear with half a project. This fucker will be finished one day; I've put far too much into it to not get a finished product. Yeah, you hear that shit all the time, but this time, I'm hoping it will ring true. :)

Yippee!

Ok, so I have been working really hard on this the last few days---

I have not been working on this much at all. I am not sure where the project is even heade----

Let me sum up the situation. :)

For the past two months I have worked for maybe 2 days on this game? I have found motivation to be at an all-time low, considering I bought a 360 and like 12 games that I really want to play through, combined with FULL TIME WORK, and it pretty much knocks any desire out of me to make games, because god damn I had forgotten how long it takes. x_x So much work to do.

Anyway, part two: this game will be finished. To hell if I don't finish the fucker! If anything, sheer motivation will carry this beast through to the end, just as it did with Gens 1. I just can't guarantee how long that will take. I have been planning Twilight Dawn (my next game... if I complete it) in great detail lately, which is also putting me off working on Gens 2; let's face it, who wants to work on an inferior game when you can plan a better one? Probably plenty o' people, but I'm not one of them.

So as to what I've done lately... ripped off Bleach's character of Szayel-Aporro Granz without realising it (but I'm way too late into the character to change it), did a few more maps on Narryl (this planet is taking fucking FOREVER), started on the space station on Ragdum (those of you who've been with the project since THE VERY BEGINNING will note that the Space Station was the first screenshot I ever made of the game back when I was doing mock-ups for it), and... that's about it, I think. Changed Rikari's sprites around a bit because I was unhappy with them.

For you, readers, who persevere with my ramblings, have a video. The speed is fucking shocking because I am on a shitheap of a computer that is like FRAPS + RM2K3 = SHIT SHIT SHIT MELTDOWN, and ignore the music, too; I changed it a while ago, but changed it back to normal not too long ago.



It is basically showing off the Rahfest system (limit break); this video was done in September, but never really shown on GW, so you can see how old it is for yourself! I've since finished everyone's, and made the effect look nicer in general. It runs pretty much perfectly now, as opposed to the rough stage you see in that video.

If I were to give an estimate, I'd say I'm 70%-80% done with the game, overall. Ragdum has... two "events" left, Rendar four, Jarun four and Narryl... god knows how many. Then there's Kzar, and the inbetween one on Paraman... okay, make it closer to 70%.

Bug K0LE to do some art for me. That'll motivate me to finish this sucker. ;)

Happy Anniversary!

...a week later or w/e, but who cares

anyway, it's 1:18 AM so you'll have to forgive my no doubt atrocious use of grammar and spelling and punctuation and whatnot (at least I didn't spell it grammer!).

Okay, let's get moving along, it's now 1:28 and I'm really not sure what I should fill this blog with. Four screenshots are coming your way at the end if you really want them.

So what have I been doing lately... adding in the sidequests necessary to gain the Rahfests, for the whole... like two or three people that know what that means. More mapping of Narryl, more of Rendar, less of Ragdum and Jarun, and that's about it.
